One printable, Two activities
Enjoy 2 different activities, Color Sorting AND Matching Game, using the same printed pieces.
Do them with your kids on Valentine’s Day or anytime for that matter.
I saw both of these activities online and decided to combine them for ease and added my own twist with:
-Heart-themed pieces for Valentines
-Fun Rainbow colors because why not
My favorite part is the pieces are all square, making them easier to cut out.
No cutting out time consuming circle or heart shaped pieces.
But hopefully you will find the cutting part therapeutic!

For ages…
Both of these activities, Color Sorting and Matching Game came up for toddler age, when I searched them online.
Preparation
-3-page printable (grab it here)
-Scissors
-6 small containers
-Tape
Directions
You can start with either activity, Color Sorting OR Matching Game, but first…
-Download the 3-page printable … (click here if you don’t have the pdf yet)
-Print the pages
-Cut out the all the squares on all 3 pages
(ok, maybe they are more like rectangles)
Color Sorting (Activity 1)
Activity 1 – Color Sorting. It’s very simple. Find any containers, cups, bowls or jars. You need 6 of them, one for each color. If you don’t have any containers handy you can also tape or place the main pieces on a table, spaced apart. Once you have your containers, take the 6 squares from page 1 and tape ONE piece onto EACH container.
Then mix up the remaining pieces.
Have your child, (with help if needed), sort the colored heart pieces (pgs 2/3) into the correctly labeled container.
Want a challenge?
The pieces on pages 2/3 contain names of colors, numbers and letters of the alphabet.
Have your little ones practice identifying the colors/numbers/letters while color sorting.
Want to keep it simple?
Just sort the colors and ignore the written colors, letters and numbers.
That’s it for Activity 1.
Match Game (Activity 2)
Activity 2 – Match Game. For activity 2, you don’t need the containers any more and that means you don’t need any of the square pieces on page 1.
Using only the pieces on pages 2 + 3, have your little one start making matches.
Want a challenge?
The pieces on pages 2/3 contain names of colors, numbers and letters of the alphabet.
Have your little ones match the written colors, numbers and letters!
Want to keep it simple?
Just match by heart color and ignore the written colors, letters and numbers.
And that’s it for Activity 2.
I hope you and your little one(s) enjoy!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
